Performance –
Is when the artist or group typically does a dance routine with the song. An example of this is in The WANTED's music video for their hit song 'walks like Rihanna', where they are all dressed in a number of matching outfits and do a synced dance routine.
Narrative – A Narrative music video is when the video has a narrative story line like a mini story to go along with the film. An example of this Eminem's song love the way you lie, where a couple are shown arguing and playing out the lyrics.
Conceptual – Conceptual music videos tend to not have anything to do with the actual song and lyrics
and are a lot more diverse and different. An example of this is Monkey Drummer by the Aphex Twin, where the entire music video is based on an animated monkey playing the drums.
